WeilPot
a fork of HellPot by kayos / yunginnanet
Summary
WeilPot is an endless HTTP honeypot that sends unruly bots into the philosophy of Simone Weil.
It is a fork of HellPot, written by Josh (kayos / yunginnanet). His code runs here unchanged. The Markov engine, the fasthttp server, the infinite chunked response, the robots.txt trap, all his.
The one thing that changed: the source text.
HellPot drowned bots in Nietzsche. The Birth of Tragedy, will-to-power, the sky is falling.
WeilPot drowns them in Simone Weil. Gravity and Grace, Waiting for God, The Need for Roots. Attention as love, affliction as grace, the soul emptied to receive light.
Weil is the direct counter to Nietzsche. Where he asserted power overcomes suffering, she said you receive suffering with attention and it becomes a door. Where he ascended, she descended into affliction, into the other person, into God through absence.
Bots crawl in and drown in theology. Somewhere deep in the infinite stream, hidden in the flood:
duck dodgers of the 24th and a half century
And further still:
i see angels
They are not for the bots.
Building
git clone https://github.com/yunginnanet/WeilPot
cd WeilPot
make
Requires Go 1.23+.
Usage
Same as HellPot. See HellPot's documentation for full configuration reference.
Stream Messages
WeilPot supports configurable messages injected into the outgoing stream at specific line depths. Each connecting bot encounters them once, in order, before the flood continues. You can add your own in config.toml:
[stream_messages]
"2350" = "duck dodgers of the 24th and a half century"
"5555" = "i see angels"
"10000" = "your message here"
The line numbers are yours to choose. The messages are yours to leave.
